Flying to Istanbul!

Yep yep, THE day has finally arrived. In 4 hours I'm taking a flight from Paris Orly to Istanbul.
A lot of people have asked me "why Turkey?". The thing is, it's the most far away and warm I can travel without having to take a visa :D and also because I know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about that country. So exciting! I haven't been checking ANY information at all, no pictures, no maps, nothing. My other friends who are coming already checked some tourist guides etc. but I haven't. Maybe I want to keep it as a surprise :D I'm also not a very typical tourist so...

We also got an answer from a farm near Fethiye (close to Rhodos) that can host us from 8th - 9th of January. So I guess I will be spending 10 days in Istanbul and after that we'll be heading south with Céline and Manon in search of farms :) In Istanbul I'll first be hanging out with my finnish friend Edla. She's european thai box champion so I guess I'll be safe! Tomorrow my german friend Luise arrives also and she's a real farmer cowgirl, and of course there's ME! And later we'll be joinned by french girl Céline who has done some judo and other martial arts too. So I guess we have enough muscle in our team to keep us safe, heha.

Next time I'll be writing it will be from the edge of Europe :)
Ciaooooo!!

P.S. It's also kind of sad that I will be geographically so close to my birth land Syria without being able to visit it... Stupid human kind, stupid dictators, stupid wars...

Why did I leave to travel? (Again.)

Greetings my friends!

As many of you already know, I decided to take a large "spring brake" from school and all that shit. After 1,5 years of living in Helsinki again (and aprox. 7 years before that), I decided I was too tired of that city. I bought a one way ticket to Istanbul for new year's eve. I left Finland the 14th of december, took a boat and many trains and travelled until France for Christmas to see my family in Bretagne. On my way there I also stopped in Germany and Paris to see some friends. Until now, it was all just "basic christmas routine" for me, because I usually always take a 3 weeks' interrail trip around this time of the year.

HOWEVER. In 2 days I will fly to Turkey from Paris. There will be no turning back :D I'm heading to the unknown, a part of Europe I have never been before, and actually, for the FIRST time of my life I'll be going out of Europe. Yes, I was born in Syria, which is not exactly very european; but I only entered Europe, I never left outside of it :D (So basically I'm an immigrant, always have been and always will be. In every country of the world :D)

First I will spend 10 days in Istanbul visiting the city like a "normal" tourist. There I will meet my finnish friend Edla and my german friend Luise, who are also coming for holidays. The 3rd or January my french friend Céline will join us, followed by her friend Manon. And around the 8th of January, the three of us will travel somewhere to the south of Turkey to volunteer somewhere, probably on organic farms. We have already had one answer so we are very excited, the plans are now becoming closer to reality!

I will probably spend January in Turkey. At the end of the month, my french friends are leaving. After that, I can pretty much do what I want, so I will either stay in Turkey if I like it or continue towards eastern Europe. The plan is to arrive to Czech Republic somewhere around March. I will try to find a job practice in Prague and stay there until the summer, so welcome to visit me! Of course, if I don't find anything, I will probably stay on some czech farm, because I want to practice their beautiful language.

So basically, this time I decided to make a blog in english, so that my friends around the world can check here where I'm going at the moment, in stead of having to explain all the time where I am and why :D Yes, it's a result of my lazyness. And yes, I still hate english, but the world still hasn't understood that spanish is the language of the future so... What more can I do! This way it's easier for all my friends to understand. If I had time I would translate all my texts in all the languages I know. But for that, somebody would have to pay me and that's quite unlikely. So. This is what you get :)

I hope you guys enjoy this blog, i will try to make it nicer some day when I have time, and upload some pictures once in a while. But for that you can also see my basic facebook :) Wish me luck and safety! Fun I will have anyway ;)

Loooots of love,
Ella
